Today's nurses can get started on their career pathways from any one of a variety of on-ramps, with different training requirements and many potential paths to career advancement. Nurse Aides provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff. Becoming a Nurse Aide is great first step on a nursing and direct care pathway. Eligibility Requirements:

• Attend an information/testing session at the District 1199C Training Fund
• Ability to pass admissions test
• Ability to attend all scheduled classes
• Ability to submit a satisfactory physical on our medical clearance form
• No felonies or qualifying misdemeanors

• Tuition: $2,000
• Books: $69
• Lab/Supply $20
• Criminal Background Check: $22
• Blood Pressure Cuff/Stethoscope: $40
• Name Badge $10
• CPR Certification $60
• PA State Competency Exam $135
• Total: $2,356 (subject to change)

Students are also responsible for the following costs:

• Watch with sweep second hand: $20 (approx)
• White scrub uniform: $30 (approx)
• White duty shoes with anti-skid soles (no sneakers): $35 (approx)​
