Two Decades of Service to the Delaware Valley's Healthcare Workers & Employers

​The Health & Technology Training Institute (HTTI) was established in 1987 by the District 1199C Training & Upgrading Fund – a non-profit labor-management workforce partnership, jointly governed by District 1199C of the National Union of Hospital & Health Care Employees (NUHHCE) AFSCME AFL-CIO, and 50 Philadelphia-area healthcare and human service employers. HTTI built on the vision of District 1199C President Henry Nicholas – first Chairman of HTTI’s Board of Directors – to develop an educational infrastructure driven by and designed to meet the specific educational needs of incumbent healthcare workers and low-income community members pursuing career advancement opportunities.
